Laser Medical Introduces FotoFacial™ with new Quantum-SR
Device
Dr. Paul Van Camp MD of Aesthetics MD in Bend,
Oregon introduces the FotoFacial™ treatment for rejuvenation
of sun-damaged skin using the new Quantum-SR device from
ESC-Sharplan.
The results of FotoFacial™ treatments are consistent,
visible improvement in the appearance and texture of the
skin with no "down time". The treatments consist
of pulses of intense pulsed light applied over the entire
face and/or neck, chest, and hands. It is a series of five
treatments lasting about 30 minutes given at three-week intervals.
Most patients return to work and full activities immediately
after treatment. The treatments are essentially painless.
FotoFacial™ corrects facial redness and flushing,
rosacea, age or sun-spots, freckles and pigmented blemishes,
visible small veins, roughness, fine wrinkles and reduces
enlarged pores. A broad band of intense visible light pulses
allow all of these problems to be treated simultaneously.
Dr. Patrick Bitter Jr. of Campbell, California first developed
the FotoFacial™ and trained Dr. Van Camp and Dr. Teng
in his technique. The Quantum-SR was designed specifically
to be used for skin rejuvenation treatments such as the FotoFacial™.
It was introduced at the American Academy of Dermatology
meetings in March 2000 by ESC-Sharplan. It is a significant
medical advance in that skin rejuvenation is achieved without
wounding, so no healing time is required.
